Neurodegenerative diseases are shaped not only by changes in gene expression, but also by where those changes occur, which cell populations are affected, and how they relate to the spatial distribution of disease pathology.

In this webinar, Dr. Guang-Wei Zhang will present how Stereo-seq spatial transcriptomics was used to map neuronal gene expression alongside amyloid-beta pathology in a 5xFAD model of Alzheimer’s disease. He will highlight an integrated workflow combining cell segmentation, brain atlas registration, pathology detection, and spatial analysis to reveal how neuronal populations and anatomical regions relate to amyloid deposition.

What you will learn:

  • Stereo-seq enabled single-cell spatial mapping of neuronal transcriptomes in the 5xFAD Alzheimer’s disease model.
  • Integration of spatial transcriptomic profiles with amyloid-beta pathology to assess cell-type and region-specific associations with plaque deposition.
  • Multimodal computational analysis combining image- and transcript-based cell segmentation, brain atlas registration, and deep learning-based amyloid detection.
