Cliff Reid
Dr. Clifford Reid is the Chairman, President, and CEO of Complete Genomics. He has 25 years of experience in startup and growth companies managing the commercialization of innovative unstructured data management technologies. In 1995, he was the founding Chairman and CEO of Eloquent, Inc., a digital video communications company. He took the company public in 2000 (NASDAQ: ELOQ) and sold it in 2003. In 1988, he was the founding VP of Product Development at Verity (NASDAQ: VRTY), an enterprise text search engine company (recently sold to Autonomy for $500M). He has a B.S. in Physics from MIT, an MBA from the Harvard Business School, and a Ph.D. in MSE from Stanford University.

Arnold Oliphant
Dr. Arnold Oliphant is the Executive Vice President for Scientific Operations at Complete Genomics. He is an expert at commercializing complex molecular biology processes. As an Executive Vice President at Ilumina, he led the groups that developed the Golden Gate and Infinium genotyping assays and platforms. As the Executive Vice President of Function Genomics at Myriad Genetics, he was responsible for developing the chemistry and automation for the BRCA1 and BRCA2 clinical diagnostic tests and for the sequencing of the rice genome. He has a B.A. in Biology from the University of Utah and a Ph.D. in Genetics from Harvard University.

Rade Drmanac
Dr. Radoje (Rade) Drmanac is the Chief Science Officer of Complete Genomics, and one of the leading research scientists in the field of DNA sequencing-by-hybridization (SBH). In 1994, he co-founded Hyseq (now Nuvelo, NASDAQ:NUVO) where, as Chief Scientific Officer, he led the effort to discover and patent thousands of genes, which now form the basis of Nuvelo’s drug development pipeline. Prior to Hyseq, he was a group leader at Argonne National Labs from 1991 to 1994 as part of the DOE Human Genome Project. He completed his postdoctoral studies in 1990 in Hans Lehrach’s group at ICRF in London. He received his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology in 1988 at Belgrade University for the conception and pioneering development of SBH technology. At the same university he received BS (1981) and MS (1985) degrees in Molecular Biology.

John Curson
John Curson is the Chief Financial Officer of Complete Genomics Inc., and has over twenty-five years experience in senior financial management positions with both venture funded start-up and public companies. John has extensive public company experience, and was the Chief Financial Officer during the initial or secondary public offerings for: Eloquent Inc., RasterOps Inc., and Truevision Inc., all NASDAQ listed public companies in the high-tech arena. John also managed the successful acquisitions of Eloquent and Truevision by public companies. Prior to his Chief Financial Officer positions, John was Vice President of Finance for DataProducts, the world’s largest independent computer printer company at the time. John has an MBA from the Anderson School of Business at the University of California, Los Angeles. He also has a master’s degree in operations research and economics, and a technical undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Leeds, UK.

Bill Banyai
Dr. Bill Banyai is the Vice President of Hardware at Complete Genomics. He has 20 years of experience developing advanced optical instruments. He was the founding CTO of Glimmerglass Networks, an optical networking company, and the Chief Technologist of Silicon Light Machines, a high-resolution display company (acquired by Cypress Semiconductor). He was a Staff Physicist at the Lawrence Livermore National Lab, a Research Engineer at Stanford University’s Ginzton Laboratory, and a Research Scientist at the Sandia National Lab’s Compound Semiconductor Research Facility. He has a B.S. in Physics from the University of Michigan, an M.S. in Electrical Science from the University of Michigan, an Engineer of Electrical Engineering from USC, and a Ph.D. in Optical Sciences from the University of Arizona.

Bruce Martin
Bruce Martin is the Vice President of Software at Complete Genomics. He has 20 years of experience designing and developing ground-breaking software technologies. Most recently, he was VP of Product Strategy at PSS Systems. He was CTO at Openwave (NASDAQ: OPWV), and during ten years at the company he led product management, engineering and business unit teams, and participated in the development of pioneering mobile software applications. Earlier in his career, he was an engineering manager in the Java development group at Sun Microsystems (NASDAQ: SUNW), and helped shape this major technology. He has a B.S. in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from the University of California at Davis.

Dianna DeVore
Dr. Dianna DeVore is Vice President of Intellectual Property and Legal Affairs at Complete Genomics. Dianna has extensive experience developing and managing intellectual property portfolios and negotiating complex corporate transactions in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors.  She has worked in a number of technologies within the biotechnology sector, including genomics, therapeutic monoclonal antibodies, stem cells, immunotoxins, and RNA interference.  Prior to joining Complete Genomics, she was the sole U.S. IP and Legal Counsel at Cambridge Antibody Technology, a wholly owned subsidiary of AstraZeneca.  Dianna was a Founder and Chief Operating Officer of the Australian Stem Cell Centre, the first Biotechnology Centre of Excellence in Australia.  She has a Ph.D. in Genetics from Yale University, a J.D. from Stanford Law School, and a B.A. in Natural Sciences from Johns Hopkins University.

Eric Lachenmeier
Eric Lachenmeier is the Vice President of Corporate Development at Complete Genomics. He has 20 years of experience in technology and biotechnology with both venture funded startups and public companies. He led the development of the ABI 310 genetic analyzer at Applied Biosystems (NASDAQ: ABI), and deployed two generations of DNA sequencing platforms at Incyte Genomics (NASDAQ: INCY) where he was Vice President of Technology Development. He has a B.S. in mechanical engineering from MIT, and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business.
