Territory Sales Manager, Northeast (11-CM-106)

Description

The Sales Manager's role is to ensure achievement of territory sales objectives in line with the Company's mission, to control, organize and direct sales activities through both strategic and tactical activities, and to provide regular reports on status of specific sales, the market and competitor activities. This individual will have primary responsibility for identifying, qualifying, closing and managing revenue-generating opportunities at accounts in Northeast US (MA, CT, VT, NH, ME) as well as Eastern Canada (Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba).  Accounts consist mainly of genome centers, academic institutions, principle investigators, biotech companies and pharmaceutical companies.  Also, this individual will collect and provide market feedback to marketing and product development teams.  This individual will report to Eastern Regional Manager and maintain a home office within the territory.

Responsibilities

  •  Development of a territory and account-specific sales plan.
  • Execution of plan to meet sales quotas
  • Utilization and maintenance of salesforce.com through accurate forecasting
  • Delivery of technical/scientific seminars and presentations to demonstrate role and relevance of CGI’s products and provide consultation to customers accordingly
  • Demonstrate command of scientific knowledge to engage in collaborative sale
  • Partner cross-functionally to appropriately address the needs of customer base
  • Engage customers in complex sales environment
  • Successfully navigate and manage a multi-tiered sale 
  • Effectively prospect and generate new customer leads
  • Manage new and existing customer base
  • Develop and maintain strong customer connections at various levels in the organization

Qualifications

  •  Life Science Degree is required, advanced degree preferred
  • 7+ yrs or equivalent commercial experience
  • Knowledge of the industry and science of genomics, genetics, bioinformatics
  • Experience in a strategic selling environment
  • Demonstrated track record in lead generation and prospecting.
  • Highly adaptable and independent.
  • Strong desire to win business and establish long-term customer relationships.
  • Previous demonstrated success with complex sales and within in multi-layered environment preferred
  • Ability to work as part of, and lead cross-functional teams involving R&D, marketing, legal and finance.
  • Work remotely, out of a home office
  • 30 -  40% field travel
