Description

  • Transfer automation equipment & processes to production.
  • Perform equipment support in production.
  • Define equipment protocols to ensure production specifications are met.
  • Manage outside equipment vendors with regard to PMs, uptime, repair, etc.
  • Implement process, method & protocol changes as required by manufacturing.
  • Create processes & procedures to ensure highest equipment uptime possible.

Responsibilities

  • Programming & assay validation on liquid handling robotic systems from both Hamilton & Tecan.
  • Volume verification using OD, gravimetric & fluorescent methods.
  • Familiar with enzyme & reagent handling, properties and liquid handling compensation techniques.
  • Low volume critical sample handling experience is highly desired.
  • Troubleshooting automation equipment & assay issues.
  • Interfacing with equipment vendors, lab technicians & engineers.
  • Software programming for equipment interfaces / analysis

Qualifications

  • High throughput wet lab experience in a controlled manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated success in a lab which increased capacity by more than 2 fold.
  • Demonstrated success with implementing protocol & equipment changes.
  • CLIA experience is highly desired but not required.
  • BS in related field.

Description

Complete Genomics is seeking a talented, driven, and accomplished leader to manage CGI’s sample prep and library construction operation.  This group is responsible for the complete process of transforming customer genomic DNA samples into DNA nanoballs (DNBs™) that are used in our Complete Genomics Analysis (CGA™) Platform.  This individual will be responsible for achieving quality, availability, and cost goals while scaling an operation to meet business objectives

Responsibilities

This individual will have the experience and a track record of performance in the responsibilities commensurate with a laboratory operations management role including, but not limited to:

Production:

  • Ensure a safe work environment
  • Manage multi-shift production team and ensure quality of day to day activities while meeting plan
  • Develop, and maintain training programs for current and new employees.
  • Develop and maintain equipment maintenance records and system suitability tests.
  • Analyze applicable metrics to maintain quality and facilitate improvement

Continuous Improvement:

  • Assist, and lead continuous improvement efforts to improve quality, increase capacity, and reduce cost.

Infrastructure:

  • Document Control – Improve existing documentation for production and test  records within the company’s document control infrastructure
  • LIMS / ERP - Establish requirements and phase implementation of LIMS/ ERP to scale with business needs
  • Process Control – develop and maintain process monitoring program

Establish strong relationships with cross-functional interfaces:

  • Quality – interface to ensure focus on continuous improvement
  • Development – participate in management of critical relationships, ensure timely, effective implementation of appropriate improvements
  • External Suppliers – participate in management of critical relationships
  • Finance – interface to establish and monitor cost standards

Qualifications

  • Proven management, interpersonal, communication, organizational, planning, and prioritization skills are required.  The position requires a demonstrated understanding of high throughput operations.
  • The successful candidate will be a results oriented self-starter with exceptional quality of work, detail oriented, and ability to develop and execute in a dynamic environment.  The successful candidate will have a demonstrated history of continuous improvement within a production laboratory.
  • An advanced degree in a relevant field is preferred with a proven track record of execution in a manufacturing or laboratory operation.
  • A minimum of 7 years of industry related experience with 5 years of laboratory management experience is required.
  • Experience in managing multiple shifts preferred.
  • A strong background in molecular biology methods and laboratory management/ operations is required.
  • Experience within a regulated (13485:2007, FDA Quality System Regulations and CMS CLIA/CAP) environments is highly desirable.

Material Handler (12-PD-008)

Description

Responsible for the distribution of reagent and consumables inventory in support of a high volume sequencing operation.  Responsible for execution, maintenance and continuous improvement of the cycle counting program.  Will also be available to back up Shipping and Receiving on an on-going basis.  Additional responsibilities include supporting material related activities as designated by the Purchasing Director.

Impact:

Failure to perform the essential functions of this job may lead to or result in; interruptions of the production schedule, inaccurate inventory balances, reduced efficiency of the Lab Operations, Purchasing, Operations Finance, and Accounts Payable groups.

Responsibilities

  •  Perform cycle counts as required.  Maintain accuracy of consumable inventory counts. 
  • Replenish consumable material kanbans in each lab.  Perform weekly stockroom counts of indirect & direct materials.
  • Maintain stocks of personal protective supplies in each lab ante-room. 
  • Facilitate the physical transfer of materials from various warehouse locations to end users as required.
  • Act as back up for Shipping and Receiving.
  • Sort and distribute company mail.
  • Responsible for stocking all Safeway, Costco and Office City deliveries.
  • Assist other members of the Supply Chain Group as required.
  • Assist with projects as assigned by the Purchasing Director.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma required.  Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word.
  • Familiar with ERP/MRP software.
  • Relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret Certificates of Analysis.
  • Ability to comprehend and convert between different physical units of measure.
  • Possess a strong sense of customer service.
  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Prompt review of requisitions for compliance, then conversion to purchase orders.  Must efficiently and accurately verify proper authorization for all purchases.
  • Prevent receiving and invoice discrepancies via careful alignment of purchase orders with supplier’s process.  Promptly resolve discrepancies as they occur.  Collaborate effectively with Accounts Payable, Receiving and Inventory Control colleagues.
  • Negotiate best terms (price, delivery, and payment terms) with suppliers while maintaining efficient output of high volume of purchase orders.  Demand the best overall value for money being spent.
  • Compliance to procurement policies & procedures.
  • Clearly communicate requirements for goods and services to suppliers, both verbally and in writing.
  • Maintain current and accurate purchase order data in the purchasing system (e.g.  delivery dates, pricing, change orders).

Description

The flow slides manufacturing technician is an enthusiastic, highly motivated person with great communication skills who can support the production of semiconductor-based flow slide device used in high-throughput genomic sequencing. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to perform a variety of production processes which include vacuum and wet processing, visual inspections, and mechanical assembly. The candidate must be willing to work in a dynamic environment in which production is ramping while processes are being improved.  In addition, the candidate should desire to work in a team setting where they will actively contribute to improving the production process.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily production processes including wet processing, chemical vapor deposition, resist coating, mechanical assembly, and visual inspections using high powered microscopes.
  • Perform PM on processing equipment.  Support Engineering and Development on an “as needed” basis to perform basic tests and non-standard processing.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or equivalent
  • 10 years’ experience in industry (semiconductor, telecom, or magnetic recording)
  • Clean room manufacturing experience
  • Experience using high-powered microscopes for visual inspections

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring all requisite tasks are completed for a successful technology transfer from development to operations:
    • Creating, updating, reviewing, developing and executing standard operating procedures and supporting work instructions based in ISO 15189:2007, 13485:2007, FDA Quality System Regulations and CMS CLIA/CAP environments
    • Creating documentation including Manufacturing Process Instructions/Method Sheets, Bills of Material, Travelers, Instructions for Use/User Guides and Service Instructions
    • Preparing, managing, and assisting with execution of qualification, verification/validation protocols (e.g. IQ/OQ/PQ) in accordance with cGMP requirements
    • Direct and continuous involvement with development and operations to appropriate plan, facilitate and manage the technology transfer
  • Supporting training of personnel in requirements of quality tools and techniques, QMS based on CLIA/CAP, ISO 13485/15189:2007, FDA 21 CFR 820 requirements
  • Supporting supplier qualification and evaluations
  • Supporting Change Control Board quality system/technology transfer representation
  • Supporting Product Life Cycle/Development (PLC/NPD) quality inputs for design and phase reviews

 Qualifications

  • Minimum, B.S./B.A. in Chemical Engineering, Molecular Biology, Chemistry or Life Science, Master’s preferred. 5+ years as a Quality/Process Engineer/Scientist or equivalent with part or all of it within a medical device or clinical laboratory environment
  • Heavy experience with:
    • Creating user friendly technical documentation
    • Equipment and material qualifications
    • Process validation and biological assay validations
    • QC Method Development
    • Quality Planning
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Risk Assessment tools, Quality Statistics, Reliability Engineering

Complete Genomics is seeking a talented, driven, and accomplished leader to manage CGI’s sample prep and library construction operation.  This group is responsible for the complete process of transforming customer genomic DNA samples into DNA nanoballs (DNBs™) that are used in our Complete Genomics Analysis (CGA™) Platform.  This individual will be responsible for achieving quality, availability, and cost goals while scaling an operation to meet business objectives.  In addition, this individual will serve as the focal point for the transfer of new processing technology into the library operations team from internal R&D groups. 

Responsibilities

This individual will have the experience and a track record of performance in the responsibilities commensurate with a laboratory operations leadership role including, but not limited to:

  1. Production
    1. Ensure a safe work environment
    2. Manage production team and ensure quality of day to day activities while meeting plan
    3. Establish, develop, and maintain training programs for current employees and new employees.
  2. Technology Transfer
    1. Approve and assist in transitions of new technology into an operations environment from internal R&D groups.
    2. Approve, assist, and lead continuous improvement efforts to improve quality, increase capacity, and reduce cost.
  3. Infrastructure
    1. Document Control – Improve existing documentation for production and test  records within the company’s document control infrastructure
    2. LIMS / MES - Establish requirements and phase implementation of improvements in LIMS/ MES to scale with business needs
    3. Process Control – establish and develop  process monitoring program and develop and maintain a process control infrastructure
  4. Establish strong relationships with key interfaces –
    1. Quality – interface to ensure focus on continuous improvement

    3. External Suppliers – participate in management of critical relationships
    4. Finance – interface to establish and monitor cost standards

Qualifications

  • Proven management, interpersonal, communication, organizational, planning, and prioritization skills are required.  The position requires a deep understanding of high throughput operations.
  • Abilities include establishing policies, establishing project plans, and meeting deadlines.
  • The successful candidate will be a results oriented self-starter with exceptional quality of work, detail oriented, and ability to develop and execute in a dynamic environment. Additionally, the candidate will have a demonstrated history of successfully establishing, and continually improving well-defined and effective operational processes across all aspects of a production laboratory.
  • A strong background in molecular biology methods and laboratory management/ operations I and a proven track record of maintaining a culture of continuous improvement  are required,
  • An advanced degree in a relevant field is preferred with a proven track record of execution in a manufacturing or laboratory operation.
  • A minimum of 10 years of industry related experience with 7 years of management experience is required; 
  • Experience within a regulated environment (CLIA, IVD) is highly desirable.
