Senior Professional Services Bioinformatics Project Manager (12-CM-046)

Summary

Complete Genomics is looking for experienced bioinformatics scientists to join our professional services team. You will be in charge of managing customer projects, and serves as the liaison between the customer and Complete Genomics.

Description

You will be responsible for supporting and collaborating with our customers and partners on our complete human genome sequencing services as part of our Professional Services organization. This position is at headquarters in Mountain View, California, although the individual will be traveling to regional customer sites and events part of the time. The travel required is likely to be 10%-15%.

Responsibilities 

• Working in partnership with field, support and product teams, help customers identify needs for more extensive, deeper, and customized services that will be required to meet their objectives.
• Help prepare Statements of Work to define those customized services
• Develop project plan and manage all aspects of the project including requirements, schedule & deliverables according to plan
• Deliver the results to the customer as defined in plan within budget and on time

Qualifications 

• PhD or equivalent work experience in Genomics or Genetics with experience in analyzing data derived from human genomic sequencing
• Excellent customer interaction skills with 5+ years of demonstrated history of successfully managing projects directly with external customers
• Strong working knowledge and understanding of current methods used to analyze whole genome sequences.
• Strong familiarity with public sequence databases and with standard sequence analysis tools and methods.
• Excellent writing, editing, communication, presentation, human relations and interpersonal skills
